BIO: I was born in Buffalo, New York and grew up on an apple orchard in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Attended Guilford College, graduating from Principia College (Elsah,Il). As for employment, I taught at three different private schools: Forman School (Litchfield, CT), Knox School (St. James, NY), and Perkiomen School (Pennsburg,PA). In each school I taught social studies classes (American History), set up a bookstore, and photography.
In 2004, I retired and moved to Green Valley, AZ . At this time, I had to learn about digital photography through joining the Green Valley Camera Club. I have served as Director of Education for GVCC. As for an influence in the area of photography, I would have to say my father. After graduating from Cornell University, he worked for the TVA (TN Valley Authority) building roads, bridges, and dams. I discovered several of his photographic albums in a trunk in the basement. While teaching, I was involved in taking sport/activity pictures for the school and work on several yearbooks. I have had the opportunity to travel and take pictures of western themes, i.e. ghost towns, rodeos, etc.
